Cut tulips at an angle for better water uptake
Did you know that cutting tulip stems at an angle helps them absorb water? Discover how a few simple care tips can help you enjoy your fresh bunch of tulips for longer.
Use a clean, sharp knife to cut approximately two centimetres off the bottom of each tulip stem at an angle. This creates a larger surface area for water absorption. Avoid using scissors, as they can crush the stems.
Cut the tulips just before placing them in the vase so you can put them straight into fresh water. After a few days, check the bottom of the stems and trim them at an angle again if needed. This helps your tulips continue to absorb enough water.
Combine freshly cut stems with a clean vase and fresh water. These simple steps help keep your tulips hydrated and provide the right conditions for them to stay beautiful for longer.
